The
Tourist Office is the starting point of this dramatized guided tour; I did not know it was dramatized until, to my surprise, I saw the scared face of
Cayo Marcio Liviano (very well represented) saying he had woken up in very strange circumstances: nearly 2000 years later.
Cayo Marcio Liviano thought it was all a test of the Gods, so he promised to tour us around Alhama de Murcia...but not today's Alhama, but the Alhama inhabited by the Romans.
Some of the highlights of this visit are: Old Food Market, Duck Garden, San Lázaro Church, Los Baños Archaeological Museum, Alhama Castle, Plaza Vieja Cultural Center, Martyr Garden and Alhama Town Hall.
After the guided tour, you can take group pictures or individual shots with each actor. I think this visit is very interesting, even for small children because there is constant interaction. The way the tour is organized, the little ones cannot get bored.
Considering these visits last until pretty much lunch time, we recommend going opposite the Tourist Office to a bar called El Rincón, where you will eat great food for a few euros.
Lastly, I would like to say that if you have never visited Alhama de Murcia, as it was my case, the town's charm and ability will surprise you and make you feel right at home. I strongly recommend visiting this town.
