Active Tourism and Adventure in the Region of Murcia

Murcia, region with plenty of landscapes for all types of active tourism and adventure sports, offers a large variety of leisure activities and holidays in nature, undoubtedly one of the region's main appeals.

 

The Murcian coast is perfect for water sports. The region's seabed is simply fantastic for snorkeling or scuba diving, with plenty of diving centers throughout the coastline. Towns such as Cabo de Palos, Mazarrón, Águilas and the coast of Cartagena, among others, are perfect for diving or taking diving classes anytime of the year.

 

If you prefer to enjoy the sea surface, Murcia is known for the excellent conditions of its two seas (Mediterranean and the ever-calm Mar Menor area) for sailing, canoing, windsurf and kitesurf.

 

The inland of the region also offers many possibilities for water and mountain sports: cave exploration, climbing, canyoning, trekking, bungy jump, kayaking, river canoing, as well as rafting town the Segura river in the town of Calasparra or the valley of Ricote (Blanca, Cieza).

 

Both on the coastal and inland areas there is a variety of routes for trekking and mountain biking, with an extensive net of trails for people of all ages and preferences, historic and archaeological routes, paragliding and horse riding, among many other activities also available in the perfectly conditioned Region's Natural Wildlife Areas. 

 

To top this off, the Region of Murcia has an extensive network of hotels and cottages, hostels, youth hostels and many companies specializing in all types of sports.
