Hiking in El Valle. El Valle y Carrascoy Regional Park

Easy, well-posted route. It even has white arrows indicating which trails not to take. In any case, this route clearly illustrates the proverb “all roads lead to Rome” because regardless of which trail you take, you will end up in
Pico del Relojero.
The route to Pico del Relojero can be done on trails or roads where you might find cyclists and even an authorized motor vehicle. We certainly recommend the trails as they are more peaceful and offer shady areas and beautiful landscapes. You can see most of Valle y Carrascoy Regional Park, the Cartagena countryside, Cabezo Gordo, Mar Menor, Murcia, etc.
Along the road you will find two viewpoints: Mirador de las Navetas and Mirador del barranco del Sordo, from where you can take great pictures of the city of Murcia and the Park.
The last slope leads to Pico del Relojero, the highest point in the park and an area where there are TV repeaters and antennas sending terrestrial TV signals to Murcia, Cartagena and the Mar Menor area. From Pico del Relojero you can see the magnificent Muralla de King Kong, walls accessible through a trail coming from here or from the Garruchal mountain pass.
Get Directions
From Murcia, take the Ronda Sur, La Alberca or Algezares exit. When you leave La Alberca towards Algezares via Avda. Juan Carlos I, go towards the Nta. Señora de la Fuensanta sanctuary. If you are leaving from Algezares, take the street Avda. de la Fuensanta.
Once in the Fuensanta area, follow the road until you come to crossroad: to you right, indications for the Valle recreational area, to your left, Teatinos and Cresta del Gallo. Take a left. The road ends in the Cresta del Gallo recreational area where you need to park and continue on foot.
