Spanish name: Ruta Tentegorra-Monte Roldán. SL-MU
Castles and Fortresses of Cartagena. Mazarrón and Águilas
Starting in Cartagena, take the road that runs through
Tentegorra park and comes out the opposite end; the park has traffic restrictions during specific opening hours. After crossing the park, take a left and park the car at the beginning of the trail, in an open space where there are a few houses. The trail starts right after the fenced water tanks on your left.
There are different options for this route, although they all start in the same point. The route that goes up to the viewpoint at Roldán is slightly over 4 kilometers (return) and can be done with kids. The views of the Cartagena countryside, Mar Menor, the Bay of Cartagena and Tiñoso Cape, are simply spectacular.
Once at the Roldán viewpoint, a steep path leads to a hill pass with old military batteries and amazing views. If you want, you can walk back on a different trail and even go to the beach of Fatares on a path that also starts at the viewpoint.
The route that we suggest via Wikiloc includes the previous options. Remember that the last place where you can get water is
Tentegorra park.
