Fall of the Bride

Between Ulea and Ojós MU-522
Ojós

Salto de la Novia In the border between Ulea and Ojós, the Segura river winds around a large cliff. According to a medieval legend, the Santiago Order Commander's daughter jumped from the rocky outcrop on top of that cliff after the death of her boyfriend in combat. From that moment onwards, the rock is called "Salto de la Novia", meaning "fall of the bride" in Spanish. Another tale talks about two lovers, a young Christian woman and the warrior Abent Hud, who decided to commit suicide after her dad disapproved of their relationship.
