Streets and Squares of Mula

Plaza del Ayuntamiento
30170 -Mula-

Spanish name: Calles y Plazas en Mula

City Hall Square Photo tour through the streets and squares of Mula's old headquarters.

City Hall Square (plaza del ayuntamiento
Heart of Mula's social life, this square was the meeting point for the locals, who in this area could buy art creations, celebrate, demonstrate...and even witness public executions back in the day! Most interesting places in Mula are in this square or its vicinity. In addition to the City Hall, next to the Casino, San Miguel Parish opposite the Clock Tower and the Drum Monument prevailing on the main fountain, are the main attractions.

Caño Street (calle del caño)
In this street there are many well preserved old houses and coats of arms.

Garden Street (calle del jardín)
The street received this name because it is next to the garden and orchard of the Vélez marquises. In the 18th century the street was called General Valcárcel, to honor this military man who died in Lima in 1745.

Boticas Street (calle boticas)
The street received its name in the 17th century, when all pharmacies were located in it. (botica is an old Spanish word meaning "pharmacy" or "drug store")  In 1919 it was called “Ortega y Rubio” to honor this history professor
