St Michael the Archangel Church in Mula

The church is located in Plaza Mayor, opposite the Town Hall of Mula after being moved in the 16^th century from the current Carmen Chapel. In the 18th century, Cardinal Belluga led the completion of this building with the aspect it still has today.

 

There is a structural floor of Latin cross and one single ward with three chapels on each side and a large apse. The inside houses the art museum, the holy chamber, the 16^th century burial crypts and the relics of Mula's patron saint: San Felipe Mártir. One of the main pieces in this temple is its antique, beautiful wrought altar made by local artist Lorenzo del Campo in the 17^th century.
