Isla Rondella, also known as “
Isla Redonda” (round island) is the smallest island in
Mar Menor with only 2.2 hectares. Rondella is in the
Mar Menor Islands and Open Spaces Regional Wildlife Park. Similarly to the rest of islands, Rondella is of volcanic origin and has a similar shape: circular base and a high cone where the now eroded crater used to be.
Rondella, hilly and inhabitable island, is a breeding site for seabirds, mainly egrets.
