The Romea Theater, with over 150 years of history, is one of the main cultural reference points in Murcia city. The building, located in the town's old headquarters, was built in the second half of the 19th century.
On the upper part of the neoclassical, eclectic theater facade, there are three busts: Beethoven, Mozart and Listz. Since its creation, the Romea Theater has been renovated a number of times, including important restoration after the 19th century fire and the very last one carried out in 1985. From that year onwards, the theater program has continued uninterruptedly, establishing itself as an important cultural center in Murcia. The theater plays a key role in the city's artistic life, with excellent technical and comfort characteristics highly appreciated by the people who enjoy art in its various forms.
