The port of
Tomás Maestre is one of the places in
La Manga with the highest variety of bars and restaurants. A perfect place for indulging yourself eating something nice, having a drink or simply going on a walk. The place is also ideal for enjoying fantastic sunsets in which the sun hides behind the mountains while its reflection lightens up the waters of
Mar Menor. Do not forget to bring your cell phone or camera because you will surely make a cool picture to be used as a screensaver or desktop image.
When
Mar Menor is calm, usually early in the morning or in the hours of dusk, its waters are like a mirror. This is certainly a landscape unique to this place which is even more enjoyable if you look at it from a higher place like the hill next to the
Pino cove.
Another nice spot for enjoying a nice
Mar Menor sunset while soaking your feet in the waters of
Mar Menor is
Alemanes beach. To get to it, take the first exit for Cabo de Palos towards the Salt Flats of
Marchamalo or, if you are coming from La Manga, the road to your right before the spot with the big anchor.
From the rocky headland of the
Cabo de Palos Lighthouse there are awesome views of Cabo de Palos, the Mediterranean Sea and La Manga del Mar Menor...you could even imagine the immense stretch of golden sand that once separated the Mediterranean sea from Mar Menor.
For those trekking in
Calblanque, you will find quite a few spots with great views of Mar Menor and its islands, La Manga del Mar Menor and Cabo de Palos.
