Spanish name: Ruta a Cala Cerrada. Cabo Tiñoso

You can do this route starting at
La Azohía or
Tiñoso Cape, near
Castillitos. This description is based on the second option. The route starts right before the parking lot of
Castillitos. After passing the open green access control fence, there is a sharp turn and a small parking lot next to the ruins. Park next to a place known as “
collado de Juan Catalina” and take the trail down to the sea.
The beginning of the trail, from where the coves
Cala Cerrada and
Cala Abierta are seen, is protected by pine trees. That is actually very nice for the walk back, especially in the hot season. The drop is slightly above 200 meters and the total distance (return) about 4 kilometers. After passing
Cala Abierta, a cove with no sand or access and right before getting to
Cala Cerrada, you will go around a little hill called “
El Castillo”, where you have to take the ravine down to
Cala Cerrada, a natural shelter for boats where the water is completely transparent. An easy, interesting route.
