To do this route, take the RM-E22 connecting Cartagena to La Azohía, and then the road to Campillo de Adentro (RM-23), near La Azohía. After going through Campillo de Adentro, there is a narrow road going up to Tiñoso Cape, where you need to drive with caution as the road is narrow and usually there are cyclists. Some 6 kilometers later, take the road to the left. If you don't take that road, you will end up in an area full of antennas...where the views of the Bay of Mazarrón and Cope Cape are great...so it wouldn't be so bad after all! In any case, if you do take the road on your left, the silhouette of “
Castillitos” will be made out in the distance.
Shortly after the entrance to the fortress, there is a little parking lot where you need to park your car and continue on foot, both to visit the building as well as to go trekking.
Some 100 meters, on the way to “Castillitos”, you will find a sign of the GR-92 as well as some green fences marking the start of the trail, an old road well posted that goes North and is suitable for children, both in terms of its length and ease.
If you are still up for it, once in
Salitrona cove you can continue on the trail that leads to other beautiful coves, such as the
one before Pozo de la avispa and
Pozo de la avispa itself. Swimming in any of these coves and enjoying the views, will certainly make up for the long walk. Here you have to routes in Wikiloc.
