Archivel

Archivel, district in the Caravaca de la Cruz municipality at 905 meters above sea level, sits on a Celtiberian necropolis where archaeological sites from the Bronze and late Roman ages have been found. Some of these remains, such as the enclosed wall in the area locally known El Santo (the Saint), are very well preserved. Surrounded by mountain forests, Archivel offers plenty of rural accommodation to facilitate access to trekking routes and mountain bike rides, among many other outdoor activities. A walk along the wall and a visit to the El Santo viewpoint and Oicas, are strongly recommended.
