Castles in the Valley of Ricote
Initially built betwenn the 11th and 12th Centuries by the Saracens it was enlarged later on. It reached special importance in the 13th Century. The masonry work is reinforced with abutments and lateral props. In times of splendour it had 12m towers, two wings and crenellated terrace, arch windows and loopholes. Curiously, the central fortified tower is not solid.
