This building from the late 19
th century was originally designed as a resting village for the Rías Viscount, who used his fortune to fund charitable work.
When the palace heir (Tovar Duke) passed away in the 20th century, the building was bought by the municipal administration of Archena with the aim of using it as a home for the elderly. Finally, the building was declared Ricote Valley Interpretation Center in 2004.
The outside garden is a public park with a lovely pond, a little waterfall, a pergola and many plants of great botanical value.
The basement houses the
Esparto-Grass Museum of Archena, exhibiting many pieces created by artisans using the traditional methods that have made this municipality so popular.
