Popular Festivals and Traditions in Blanca

In Blanca there are two festivities: 

Spring Festival during the eight days following Easter Sunday.

August Festival in honor of San Roque during the first half of the month.

 

Every year, Blanca celebrates the running of the bulls, a local tradition with more than 300 years (some say it dates back to 1658). The locals decided to express their gratitude to San Roque de Montpellier by celebrating the bull ritual during the saint's day. Around 6 pm, the bulls are led by the runners from the stockyard in the outskirts of the village to the bullring, a distance of 800 meters through the narrow streets of the old headquarters. This is a regional event of tourist interest.
