This calvary was raised to house the ritual of the Immersion of the Cross that takes place on the morning of May 3rd. Built in the 1980s, it stands on the same site where the Holy Cross has, since time immemorial, been immersed in the waters of the main irrigation canal that flowed through this area.
It is an eight-sided structure of marble arches covered by red tiles. The immersion of the reliquary containing a Lignum Crucis of the Holy Cross takes place on each of the eight sides.
