This 1886 building by local architect
Francisco José Belmonte has been renovated a number of times. In 1871, a storm destroyed the vault over iron, which was replaced by a masonry-walled dome with oval skylights and stained glass.
On the outside, the building has large windows of lowered arches, bossed stone and a coat of arms on the main facade. Inside, the large number of windows, stained glass and skylights in the dome let light up the premises.
The building, renovated many times to expand spaces and rooms, has been used as a school and jail in the past. Currently, it houses the plenary hall, conference room and a number of smaller exhibition rooms.
