Its origin is in the year 1568, when Diego Ruiz Melgarejo (From the family of the counts of San Juan Valley) built a small mill in the Place of the Celadilla. The mill was completely rebuilt in the 17th century and expanded in the 19th century. It is an example of Baroque architecture of 17th century in Calasparra. Actually, it houses the Historical Archives, the Municipal Archives and the Emilio Pérez Piñero Foundation.
