Campo de Cartagena

Balsicas

Castillo de los Vizcondes de Ros Saying that the oldest inhabitants of the Murcia Region were found in this little town may surprise some, but it is true. In Cabezo Gordo, very near Balsicas, Neanderthal human remains were found. After the Roman period, the name Balsicas began to be used after some balsas (Spanish word for "ponds") were built to feed the animals back in the 16th century.

Balsicas sits on a privileged spot near golf resorts and developments in the Campo de Cartagena area, and only 30 minutes from Murcia and from the Mar Menor beaches.
