Mazarrón

Panorámica Mazarrón Gulf of Mazarrón.  It offers visitors a wide artistic heritage and many options for beach and leisure activities on the Mediterranean Sea shores.  The town of Mazarrón is historically linked to mining; in fact, the mountains surrounding it were inhabited by Phoenicians, who extracted lead, silver, zinc, iron and alum.

With over 35 kilometers of beaches, unspoilt coves and a rocky seabed, Mazarrón is a great place for water sports, scuba-diving or just kicking back and relaxing. Inside the municipality of Mazarrón, one can find the town of Puerto de Mazarrón, a tourist destination with many, pristine water coves and beaches such as Bolnuevo, Alamillo, Mojón, Cala Desnuda, La Isla and Percheles, among others.  The many civilizations sailing these waters for centuries, have left numerous traces behind them, including the oldest Phoenician shipwrecks in the world.
