Puerto de Mazarrón

Puerto de Mazarrón is a town of fishing and sailing tradition located in the municipality of Mazarrón. The lovely location of this town and beauty of its beaches, make Puerto de Mazarrón one of the most popular places in Costa Cálida, Region of Murcia.

 

The town, which has more inhabitants than Mazarrón, town from which it is only 6 kilometers away, is an important tourist destination in the region. The seabed of this town, more specifically Isla beach, is home to two Phoenician ships called Mazarrón I, with over 2,500 years of history, and Mazarrón II, an 8-meter ship that is even older... in fact, it is considered the oldest in the world! Both ships are duly protected as they are at a depth of only 3 meters, very near the beach and in the same exact place were they sank thousands of years ago...
