Hiking in El Majal Blanco. El Valle y Carrascoy Regional Park
Walk and relax with your family right next to the city
The Majal Blanco forest park, with its many pine trees and birds, sits just 10 kilometers from the city of Murcia. The Mountaineer Federation has designed a trekking route in the park that is perfect for families. Majal Blanco is a 800+ hectare forestry land in the Regional Park of El Valle-Carrascoy. To get to it, take the old road to Mazarrón until you arrive at the Torregüil development, in the municipal district of Sangonera La Verde. If you are driving, there is a parking area in Las Moreras square, right next to the highway. The starting point is pretty near: look for sendero familiar "Miguel Ángel Cámara", marked with the code SL-MU15. The route is pretty easy and short (slightly over 2 kilometers). It is perfect for kids who will love the bright, natural colors, as well as for adults who can enjoy this peaceful setting.
After a few meters, the route is sheltered by different types of pine trees that lead to a ravine known as Cuevas del Buitre. When you get to the bridge over the Torregüil road, go up the Naveta trail and...take in all the fresh mountain air!!!! Keep going until Collado de la Piedra to enjoy a wonderful view dotted with pine trees, cliffs and hillsides. Before you know it, you'll get to the end of the trail in Cerro de las Moreras, a viewpoint from which you can see the entire Guadalentín valley.
How get there:
