Shopping in Murcia

In Murcia there are many different types of stores and shopping centers where you can buy all kinds of products.

 

If you like traditional stores, you will find them scattered throughout the city, but mostly in the old quarter: Trapería, Platería, Jabonerías and surrounding areas where you can also enjoy colorful stores and squares, visit monuments, eat tapas... some shops date back to the 14^th century. Actually, at the end of Trapería street, right before getting to the cathedral, you can read the following historical note: "In this place people from Malta, Genoa and Catalonia got wealthy in the 14^th century with their fabric businesses on workshops; hence the name of the street: Trapería (meaning: "thrift store")

 

Near the city center, in Avenida de la Libertad, there are many fashion clothes as well as the El Corte Inglés department store.
