Formed by folding limestone, this sierra has a surface area of 15 square kilometers. Capilla, the highest point in the sierra at 1238 meters, is a natural separation between the Northern Murcia Region municipality of
Yecla and the Alicante areas of Villena and Saladares.
This sierra has many routes and caves, such as those of the Micro-reserve of Lagrimal Cave, the viewpoint of Rabasa and La fuente del Lobo, with its amazing ravines from where it is possible to see the Mediterranean Sea on a clear day.
