The coast of San Pedro del Pinatar is washed by two seas, Mar Menor and the Mediterranean, for a total of 14 kilometers. Some beaches in urban areas, such as
La Puntica in Lo Pagán,
Villananitos,
Mota in Mar Menor and
Mojón in the Med. The rest of
beaches of San Pedro del Pinatar are more isolated, all of them in the Mediterranean Sea, inside the
Regional Park of the Salt Flats and Sand Areas. These long, open beaches with dunes and white sand are located in a typically Mediterranean environment.
Beaches inside the Regional Park are accessible through foot trails starting at the parking lot or in the surroundings of Puerto de San Pedro. In the case of Torre Derribada, you can get to this beach from a little parking area on the road to the town of Puerto de San Pedro.
The foot trails in the Regional Park will surprise you. The nicest ones are those of Las Encañizadas (Mediterranean beaches), Torre Derribada (Coterillo foot trail), as well as the one starting at Mota beach, near a windmill and along the Salt Flats and Mar Menor, an area where you could go for a mud bath.
