Spanish name: Rambla de Nogalte-Muelles del Puerto
La Rambla de Nogalte has conditioned the village in all aspects, and it has been witness to all the events throughout history;it was the union and disunion point among people in Puerto Lumbreras, as well as a place where important events and big tragedies have taken place, such as droughts and big floods.
La Rambla de Nogalte was crucial for the creation and development of an urban centre thanks to the existence of a regular subterranean water flow. A great work of engineering is developed in 1770 by lighting the ground waters, making a great change in Pueto Lumbreras, renaming it from Puerto Nogalte to Puerto Lumbreras ("lumbreras" means Light in Spanish).
The Rambla de Nogalte has one of the biggest riverbeds in the area, it starts inthe mountains of Las Estancias in Vélez Rubio, it divides the centre of town into two neighbouthoods and it finis-hes in the Govermment Delegation of Lorcacalled "El Jurado".
The Harbour Docks are a work from the architect Martin Lejárrega; they are two footbridges joining both river banks through one of the biggest reference points in town for both pedestrians and road traffic.
