The
Ñora Waterwheel was built in 1936 on the spot where the former wooden and ceramic waterwheel from 1399, was located. The new waterwheel, made of metallic materials, has a diameter of 13 meters and a main axis connected to spokes that end in a main crown. A number of tendons keep the waterwheel balanced.
The waterwheel is part of the same structure as a 220-meter aqueduct, which has a height of nine meters in some areas, is built mostly with solid bricks and distributes water to neighboring orchards.
