19th century. The site of the current city hall was constructed in 1848 over the site of the "Casa del Principe" of the Muslim palace, which was converted into the residence of the Murcian Council by concession of the King Alfonso X in 1287. The architect Juan José Belmonte redid the facade in a classic style, converting it into a magnificent look- out over the river.
