Spanish name: Archivo Municipal. Antiguo Hospital de la Purísima Concepción
Construction of the new hospital replacing the old San Pedro Hospital, residence of the Franciscans, began in 1581. The new hospital was built in the countryside, not far from the city center, with the idea of avoiding infections and other problems.
The hospital, inaugurated in the first few years of the 17th century, provided charity services through the Immaculate Conception Charity to patients suffering from epidemics striking the municipality. The premises had a number of patios, a cemetery and an orchard which, after renovation works in the 18th century, housed an access gate as well as an sculpture of the Immaculate Conception.
The building currently houses the Municipal Archive of the Library as well as a center for senior citizens.
