Spanish name: Embarcadero del Hornillo

Hornillo Pier Built in 1903 in the Bay of Hornillo, this pier was used to load iron from the mines of Bacares (municipality in the province of Almería). The pier, the second largest of its type in Spain back in the day, was big enough for two boats to dock and be loaded simultaneously. The pier's concrete and steel structure is connected to the train station of Águilas through a metal bridge of over a kilometer in length. The Hornillo pier was recently declared Historic Site.
