Spanish name: Iglesia Ntra. Sra. de los Dolores - Hospitalico
Recently restored National Eucharistic Temple of Virgen de los Dolores, of Baroque style. Next to this temple from the period of King Felipe II sits the Music School.
The church of Hospitalico (little hospital) takes its name from its location near the old Charity Hospital of Yecla, which Felipe II ordered to build in 1575.
This national eucharistic temple is typical of the Baroque style in the Cartagena Diocese, with three areas separated by semicircular arches, cross and semi-spherical dome. The presbitery altarpiece was moved to “hospitalico” from its previous location in Santuario del Castillo in 1977.
The large chapel has an image of Our Lady of Sorrows next the Christ of Peace and images of St John the Evangelist and St Mary Magdalene.
