Cehegín

Panoramic view With an elevation above sea level of 592 meters and an extraordinary urban and natural environment, Cehegín is a must-see destination for any visitor to Southeast Spain. As many other towns in the Northwest District of the Region of Murcia, Cehegín was inhabited by many ancient civilizations, each of which left traces of their culture that have shaped the rich heritage of this town. Something that Cehegín locals are especially proud of is its wealth of monuments, arts, architecture and landscape. Its old headquarters, declared Historic-Artistic Site in 1982, has places that are pure eye-candy, including Casa del Concejo, Palacio de los Fajardo and the Santa María Magdalena church. Another place of interest is Begastri, an archaeological site once home to Iberians, Romans and Visigoths.

Visitors to Cehegín and its surrounding areas can enjoy many different tours to unveil the beauties of this wonderful little town: route of churches, route of the green way, route of nature, as well as an urban route.
